Our equipment

The reactor-evaporator system was designed with the purpose of being used in sanitary/industrial landfills to evaporate leachate (liquid generated by the degradation of waste in the trash), and concentrate (liquid generated by the osmosis process) presenting as its main characteristic , through the thermal process, the use of gases generated in the landfill itself.

The cylindrical reactor-evaporator, using primary air and secondary air, reaching high temperatures (above 800º C) makes it possible to establish a constant relationship in the volume of evaporated leachate and concentrate.

Project development

The company Sirt Tecnologia, a manufacturer of self-combustion incinerators, is responsible for installing the Incineration Unit for City Halls in large Brazilian capitals. Considering the large volume of leachate produced in the landfills of these municipalities, a study was carried out to use the heat emanated in the incineration process, to carry out the evaporation process (thermal treatment) of the leachate existing in the landfill.

The first test was carried out in August 2007, using the heat conductor system from the incinerator to the gas scrubber, suitable with an internal coil system, and using the incinerator grill, as pre-heating of the slurry, with a satisfactory result. .

In a second step, the project moves on to carry out evaporation, independent of the incinerators, and from then on by REAT evaporators, using GAS emanating from the landfill itself as fuel, for this purpose an evaporation test unit was developed.

The first test took place in October 2007, with the aforementioned unit remaining in operation until the end of November 2007, achieving a volume of up to 1m³/hour of evaporation at a temperature between 800-900°.
